- In about one month Gideon, my grandson, will be thirteen. He ended up with a splinter in his foot today. He wanted so much to remove the splinter himself. He tried using the tweezers, but Zed ended up pulling it. It was big enough that the tweezers weren’t necessary. What about this makes me happy? Seeing his determination and willingness to take care of this on his own. If the splinter had been easier to reach, I'm sure he would have succeeded in removing it himself. Suddenly I am wishing we had played Operation when he was younger. 😉
- Bel and Keziah are in Texas to visit their father for about ten days. I’m happy they arrived safely. There are some storms in the middle of the country, delays were possible.
- It was a slow day for me. I did get a few things done though. Laundry, some dishes, and I cleaned off a shelf. The shelf has had teas on it for over four years and I got rid of all but one. I even took the time to separate the tea from the packaging so I can compost the teas. All the teas looked fine, but I don’t really trust them. They were all expired. Now I have a place to put things I want to display. I’m trying to keep all the food in one place, and that isn’t it.

- It was a cold January day. I put on some nice, thick, warm socks. These might become my sleeping socks when nights are cold when I am camping.

Currently listening to: A Walk in the Woods, by Bill Bryson.
Thank you for being here and being part of my daily happy things. Stay safe!
