Stars

September 3rd

Happy things from this lovely Wednesday:

• Leaving for work this morning in the wee hours, the stars were beautiful.  I tried to take a few pictures but I can't remember the settings I should be using.  So I pointed, messed with settings, and took some pictures.  It wasn't until this afternoon that I looked and found that some of them actually came out!  I'm pretty sure that the star cluster I keep seeing in the east is the Pleiades star cluster.  I still haven't checked it with my app, but it looks right.

• As I walked toward my car and away from the house I noticed an orange glow in the west.  This has to have been the moon through the trees, setting.  

• After work, they gave us pizza from Pizza Hut.  I forgot that I like their pizza.  This meant that by the time I got home from work, I was fed.  Bel is home from Maryland so we visited a short time before I took a much needed nap.  I couldn't fall asleep yesterday.  I might have had three hours of sleep before getting up for work.  So the nap was almost unavoidable.  I woke up to get Gideon from school.  He still likes high school today (phew!).

As a side note, I hope that I am able to sleep soon and that the nap wasn't a mistake.
