April 20th Sunday
Happy Easter!
We are still debating life choices.
It was a lovely day on the Appalachian Trail. Since our tent is still broken, we cut the hike short and are staying at the Around the Bend Hostel again. They have an outfitter and we now have two new tents. The people here are very nice. They showed us what they had in stock, we did some research, and came back and purchased a Lunar Solo tent. Then we were able to set it up and seam seal it. While it was up, Bel made sure they would be able to fit into the tent. Tents don't always fit people who are tall. Since they fit, we got another. After resupplying in the morning we should be back on the trail.
Having two tents instead of one will have some benefits, only one of those is privacy. It also makes it easier for either of us to get up and packed without the other. I liked the idea of sharing a tent while the weather was cold. It is no longer cold here. Another bonus, these two tents together, weigh less than the one tent we were using.
In the next few days we should be out of Georgia and into North Carolina!
We are meeting people along the trail. They all seem very friendly and welcoming. We had some trail magic today. Someone who came from Wisconsin to hike some of the trail was cleaning out the things she didn't want to take back to Wisconsin. She had some ice cold Gatorade (and other things) right when we needed it.
The Lens app was used in identifying some of the things in some of the following pictures.
