Past Christmases

Here are some happy things from today:

  • The house hasn't been very organized lately. We made some good progress today.  Many things got put away.  Some things were thrown away.  Some things are ready to be donated.  Spring cleaning time is in full swing.
  • Bel and I bought some freeze dried chicken for the trail.  We tried it.  It is good.  Freeze dried chicken will be so much lighter to carry than the Starkist chicken packets we were carrying.  We also got some freeze dried vegetables that are pretty good.  Chicken will be the main meat protein we will have while hiking.  We went out to dinner tonight and I got fish.  😁
  • Here are some pictures that I found in a small box.
1947!

The back of this picture has either 1966 or 1968 as the date.  I'm the little girl in the picture.  I would either be two or four.  The lady in the plaid skirt is my Aunt Helen.

The date on the back of this picture is 1987.
That is me standing up waving in the back with the red earmuffs.

Bel and Keziah from 1997.
Bel would have been three and Keziah seven.

Currently listening to: The Appalachian Trail: A Biography, by Philip D'Anieri.

Thank you for being here and being part of my daily happy things. Stay safe!

  1. Jeanne, do you know who the woman in the plaid skirt is? I could almost make it look like my mother but I don't ever remember her wearing a plaid skirt. Judy

  2. The back of the photo said "Aunt Helen". I was assuming she was your mom. As a side note, I might have that skirt somewhere... or I may have had it or one very similar that came to me with my mom's things. Perhaps she wore it that one Christmas and not again? Or, maybe there is another Aunt Helen that I am forgetting?
