May 1st
Happy May Day! Here are some happy things from today:
- This morning I got to Keziah’s store, DIY Craft & Thrift, just in time to help someone deliver their donations to the store. I helped out a little there before heading out to visit my friend Stephanie.
- Stephanie was the ride back to the Appalachian Trail for Bel and I a few weeks ago in April. She and I also did a short backpack trip last fall together. We had some great conversations about the different ways I can proceed from here. It was wonderful to be able to bounce ideas off her.
- We also practiced some archery. We didn't keep score, we just shot for fun. She set up some small targets to try to hit from a close distance. It is harder to do that than one might think. It was a lot of fun. I'm not sure when I will get to shoot archery again.
- There is a town I drove through today in which many homes grow daffodils. I love to drive through there this time of year. There is one house that has thousands of them. I tried to get a picture as I drove by. So many daffodils.
- The azalea bush between our house and the neighbor's house is looking lovely in full bloom.
- This evening a friend of Keziah's came by to visit. Before they left we played a quick game of Cribbage. Every hand I had, except for the very last one, I had a run. That was weird, but possibly because of that, I won.
