May 2nd
Here are some happy Friday things:
- When we went back to the Appalachian Trail I forgot my trekking poles. Thankfully Stephanie lent me hers. I forgot to return them to her yesterday when I visited. She was in town today so I went to return them. Because of this, I also got to see two other friends before they all went off to an SCA event. It was really great to see them all.
- It has been a while since I have been in the garden area by the house. I heard that the cherry tree was blooming so I went to check it out. Every year we think the cherry tree has died, and every year it surprises us. We always seem to miss the actual cherries. The birds get them first. I also noticed that a little bit of the rhubarb I planted is still alive.
- There is a large tree that I think might be some spruce variety near the garden. It is loaded with what I believe will become pine cones.
- During the spring months through the fall Concord, NH has events once a month where the businesses on Main St can choose to stay open later. They call it First Fridays. There is often a theme. In May that theme is Petals and Pedals (or Pedals and Petals?). Anyhow, I brought Gideon to the store (DIY Craft & Thrift) tonight so we could have dinner there. I ended up spending most of my time in the back room talking with someone, first about my hair and the trail, then about everything. It was nice. It gets late fast when there is good conversation.

That white light in the sky is actually the moon. It is waxing crescent tonight. |
