Happy first day of July. Here are some happy things from my day:
- The heat is really bothering me at work. I'm extremely thankful that I was not the only one to complain and adjustments were made. It was still hot, but much closer to tolerable. Yay!
- When I got home, I was exhausted. After I ate, I'm sure I drifted off to sleep for a few minutes. The alarm was set for me to get Gideon, so out again I went. Gideon is really looking forward to summer break. There is still a summer assignment he has to do, but that won't involve getting up early for school.
- After bringing him home, I decided I wanted to be a little productive before getting some real sleep. I put up a new shower curtain that is a whole inch longer than the last one. I'm hoping the curtain will stay in the shower easier so less water ends up on the floor. When I ordered the shower curtain I thought it came with the rings to hang it from the rod. Since some of the ones I was using were broken, these were important. Fortunately, I haven't dropped off any donations recently and I had some. They were my mom's, still in the package from Zayre Dept Store. That company went out of business in 1990. So my brand new shower curtain rings are more than 35 years old. 🤣

Not pretty, but they work! |
- The unidentified plant from a few days ago that -K suggested are bee balm are looking more like bee balm to me too. I'll be pulling some of the other plants growing near them soon. I want the bee balm more than day lilies. I don't think I'm exaggerating when I say we probably have well over 100 day lilies on the property.

Currently listening to: The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, by Mark Twain.
Thank you for being here and being part of my daily happy things. Stay safe!
I definitely agree with bee balm. The leaves usually have a very distinctive fragrance sometimes likened to Oregano. I hope yours attract some Humming birds. I planted some for that reason but, alas, have never seen any.
ReplyDeleteThe first or second year we lived here I saw a hummingbird. Seeing them again would be nice. 🙂
