High School

 September 2nd

Here are my happy things from today:

• The most unusual thing happened after work.  I was invited to hang out with some coworkers for lunch, a birthday celebration.  I declined.  It was very tempting though.  And even though it was a rather spur of the moment invite, it was very nice to be thought of.
• It was Gideon's first day of high school.  The town doesn't bus high school students so Gideon must either walk home (~two miles) or get a ride.  This week he will probably get rides while we all get used to the routine.  Anyhow, I picked him up today.  For his first day, he loves it!  When he finished eighth grade, he was not happy with school.  There are classes this year he seems excited for and he seems to like how the classes are timed.  It was really nice to pick up a happy person!  I couldn't decide which picture to use.
