Aurora Borealis

 November 12th

Here are some happy things from last night and today:

  • It was a deep sleep that I was in when Keziah opened the door to the apartment and called to wake me up.  She made a comment, apologising for waking me but that I would really want to see whatever was happening.  I mumbled a bit and then she let me know that the Northern Lights could be seen over the city.  Usually the city lights were bright enough that I couldn’t see stars to the north.  It is a small city though, and last night there was definitely a faint pink-ish red glow in the sky.  The camera, set on night mode, certainly made the colors pop.  What a beautiful reason to be woken up!

I couldn't see any of us when I took this picture.

  • Thankfully, it didn’t take me too long to fall back to sleep.  I had a hard time getting up but made it to work on time.  After helping with the packages that are shipped in the middle of the night, I ended up in training for a good part of the shift.  I had to take the refresher course for working in Hazardous Materials.  When I was finished with the course, I got to train the person who got the Interim Safety Champion position in Hazardous Materials.  At the end of the shift, there was food brought in.  So the work day ended with pasta and salad from the Olive Garden.  Yum.
  • On the way home I picked up a caulking gun.  It is the last thing I need to be able to finish the shower.  Unfortunately, I am just too tired to do anything about it.  Tomorrow is another day and another opportunity to get things done.  Instead, I sat down with a sweet snack and had a cat nap.  Keziah got me some cookie dough, I think at Whole Foods, and it is delicious.  I haven’t bothered baking cookies out of it yet.  Edible dough is a wonderful thing.

  • GratitangleZ is Quandry.  I did this one during Inktober as well.  I hope I was able to change it up a little.

## 505 words were written on the muffin story.  The total is 2940 words.  I guess the cat nap was enough to help me write.

Continued listening to:  A Symphony of Echoes, by Jodi Taylor.

Thank you for being here and being part of my daily happy things. Stay safe!
