April 18th Georgia

 April 18th. Good Friday & day 6 of Passover

The stay at the hostel last night seemed to go well.  Bel was a little cold, but not cold enough to turn the heater on.  The cabin we were in also had a window air conditioner.  The people were great too.  They shuttled us back to the trail this morning and the driver was knowledgeable about the trail and other hostels.  Some pictures from around the hostel.

There was someone doing the trail staying at the hostel and fasting today for Good Friday.  I'm not sure if they hiked while fasting or took a zero day.  If they hiked, I hope they are okay. 

There was quite a bit of up today.  2385 feet up in elevation and 1191 feet down over 5.8 miles.  We decided to stay at a shelter instead of going to a dispersed campsite tonight.  

The mountain the tree is lining up is Tray Mountain.   We are staying along the other side.

Much of the haze in the pictures is most likely being caused by different wildfires.  The fires are not close to us, just some of the smoke.

My ankle is mostly fine.  There are some odd positions that hurt a bit, but all that hiking today and I only had a couple minor pangs.  We took our time up and around those mountains.
