Rocks

 June 9th

Happy things from my busy Monday:

• Before I went away to backpack sections of the Appalachian Trail, my daughter and I had hang-out together time on Monday mornings.  Well, it's Monday!  I know that I have been writing about wanting to paint the kitchen, but I decided that I should finish my bedroom before I do too much more on the kitchen.  After all, I started painting the bedroom over a year ago!  Keziah had one section that she had been working on, too. Today we both worked on painting in my bedroom.  I added more to the stone wall.  Keziah painted the fairy door on the wall she started last year.  I'm pleased with our progress.

The first bit I painted today was under the ladder I have in my room.

• After lunch I went for a nice walk with my friend Amy.   Along the walk we saw what might have been a beaver on the shoreline of Dorr's Pond.  We couldn't get a good look at the tail and it was amid trees.  Anyhow, it was nice to catch up with Amy as we walked.

• After that, it was time for me to head to the mountains!  Not for more walking, but to pick up my friend Stephanie.  She has been backpacking in the White Mountains and decided to get off trail a little early because there are some storms coming tomorrow.  Wet, muddy, slippery trails aren't fun.  Add thunder and lightning into the mix and being on a ridgeline isn't necessarily the safest place to be.  I was happy to pick her up, bring her back to her car, and go to dinner together to share trail stories.
