And There Was Light

It is the Fourth of July.  It doesn't seem possible.  Here are some happy things from today:

  • The chickens are getting big.  They are spending more time outside.  Soon the coop will be ready and they will be out of the house.  I'm looking forward to that.

  • Bel and I worked on a friend's trailer, fixing the lights.  Our friends let us borrow the trailer to bring home a chicken coop, so we tried to fix the lights.  Bel rewired the trailer some and then we were able to determine that some of the bulbs were broken.  We replaced them and it should all work now.  We then installed strong magnets in the apartment kitchen so that the light I bought to go over the sink could attach.  The light came with a magnetic strip that taped to the wall.  That didn't want to stay stuck.  It is a rechargeable light with motion detection.  As I write this I am realizing that I can attach magnets in other places and just move the light where I need it.  I can just walk up to the sink and the light comes on.

The white splotch on the wall is where the tape from the light's magnetic strip pulled paint off the wall.  I put spackling on it to prepare it for painting.

  • Keziah, Zed, Gideon, and I went to visit friends for a dinner cookout.  The last few years they have come to visit us, this year we visited them.  They have a lovely house.  It is very colorful and an artist friend has painted things around the house.  I noticed birds, trees, a snail, and some other things.  I love that bit of artistic whimsy.
Keziah helped paint the porch.

There is a bird I was trying to get a picture of.  For some reason Zed thought I was taking a selfie.  He came up to photo bomb me and was really surprised to see trees!  🤣

Currently listening to: The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, by Mark Twain.

Thank you for being here and being part of my daily happy things. Stay safe!
