Butterfly Weed

 July 9th

Here are my happy things from today:

  • Making it through each day this week in its entirety (except Friday) is important to me.  Friday, I'm going away after work, so I might leave a little early.  Work has been letting people go after just a few hours.  I used to be that person who wanted to leave early.  I'm trying hard to stick it out.  I think I like my job more than I used to, that helps too.  So, I made it through my work day, yay!
  • The Appalachian Trail did in my FitBit.  I've decided to take advantage of a sale going on now and get a new one.  It will arrive while I'm away this weekend, but I look forward to trying it out when I get back on Sunday.
  • The butterfly weed that we have growing at the front of the house is the flower I am choosing to write about today.  This plant is a member of the milkweed family.  At first glance, it doesn't resemble the milkweed with purple flowers in our yard.  The red-orange flowers of the butterfly weed are similar in size and shape though.  I liked this plant once I saw the orange blossoms.  It helps that it is supposed to attract butterflies.

Thank you for being here and being part of my daily happy things. Stay safe!
