Coreopsis

 July 8th

Here are some happy things from today:

  • Another work day is done!  The "big boss" asked me about my Appalachian Trail adventure today.  That was nice.  There was also an employee that thanked me for helping them stow their aisle.  This is only unusual because of the way they did it.  They were very sincere, like they may have been struggling before I helped.  I don't know, it was nice.
  • Corvidae had their gallbladder removed today.  I had expected her to stay overnight, but I guess it is a day surgery.  Anyway, she seems to be doing alright.  Obvious and normal discomfort, which stinks, but on the mend.
  • The flower I chose today is a whorled tickseed or Coreopsis verticillata (if Lens is correct).  It is one of the plants in the front of the house.   I'm hoping to get a slightly different version of this, Lanceleaf coreopsis, to put in the triangle portion of the driveway as I redo that area.   My limited research tells me that the Lanceleaf variety is a little more native or common to this part of the country.

Currently listening to: The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, by Mark Twain.

Thank you for being here and being part of my daily happy things. Stay safe!
