August 20th
Happy things from today:
- Work was good. I ended my day in the Hazardous Materials area and managed to catch up completely again. Hopefully this time there are enough people trained (and not on vacations) that it will stay that way.
- The book I've been listening to, James, is an historical fiction book based on the character Jim, in Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain. The author of James, Percival Everett, began the book by keeping to the storyline but with Jim's perspective and his life away from Huck. At some point Mark Twain's storyline goes out the window and becomes an alternate one. For the most part, in my opinion, it works. It is not a children's book. All this to say that I liked the book, but if you choose to read it, don't expect a lot of humor.
- My youngest “child” turned 31 years old today. They are visiting friends in Maryland for their birthday. When Bel was little they liked playing games (still do), Blue's Clues on TV, and they had a favorite stuffed animal. It was a little rabbit named BunBun. They were a picky eater; I'm glad that has changed. They loved being read to. Here are a few random pictures with Bel.
