October 2025
Happy things from this first day of October:
- All too often I fall asleep before I finish writing my blog. Yesterday I finished my blog but failed to plug my phone in to charge. I didn't notice my battery level when the alarms went off for me to wake up and get ready for work. I didn't notice this when I turned on music to listen to while I got ready. I didn't notice this when I turned on the audio book for the drive to work. I noticed the battery level when I was parked at work and ready to go in. My battery was at 13%. Then I remembered that I have a charging brick in the car. Unfortunately, the cords I have in the car are not compatible with that charger. I turned the car on long enough to charge it to 15% before I went into work. It wasn't until “lunch” time (~5:30 AM) that one of the people I eat lunch with told me they had a wall charger and let me borrow it. By my last break I had a fully charged phone. I'm very thankful for that. It isn't that I use my phone during work, but I do during breaks. I was a little stir crazy without it!
- A few weeks ago I won a prize at work for submitting information about a safety issue. Due to general busy-ness, I didn't get the prize until today. It is a small, 142 piece household tool box. I love it! I've been going to purchase something similar to fill out what I have for tools.

- Yesterday I mentioned Inktober. Today I am having second thoughts. Instead of following the official prompts and suggestions I'm going to make it up. It is my intention to work on some type of art for at least 15 minutes a day through October. Last year Zentangle was suggested to me. There are multiple daily art ideas floating around the internet. I'm going to play around with some of them or make up my own prompts. Corvidae might do some of this too. In the past, TF has also participated in Inktober with me, I'm not sure if she will or not this time. All that said, today I used the online random art prompt generator I have used before. Of the options, I chose the color palette, item, and mood. Part of what I ended up with was an accident. A good one though.

| After trying to draw hands on a door knob, I came up with this. |

| The figure to the left was a mistake. I turned it into a ghostly-ish figure when I added the colors. I should probably ink in the pencil sometime to make it all stand out more. |
- During a brief walk around the yard, I took some bee pictures.
