May 25th Sunday
Depending on how you write it, today's date is a palindrome. 5.25.25 😊
It was my hope to make it ten miles today and get to my car. I did it. I wish I could say that I also got the hotel room I was dreaming about as I hiked, but that was not in the cards. Oh, well.
Thankfully, I got going early enough and was able to hike around ten miles in around eight hours, including a lunch break. That is better than one mile an hour, so I am happy with it. It was very tempting to stop at the shelter around the halfway point and stay rather than just having lunch.
Some of the terrain was mostly flat and easy going. Other sections were full of rocks and I had to pick my way through them looking for the best place to put my feet. What got me was the crossing of waters. I slipped and fell into the mud. I'm fine, and so is the mud!

With my shoes on my backpack, I thought it kind of looked like it could walk away. |

I love a good stone wall. |

Those would be my knees, where I fell in the mud along the Warner Hollow Run. There was a sign, I could have taken a two mile detour to not cross here. Since I had already fallen in the mud, I crossed. |

Little Antietam Creek. I didn't fall at this crossing. |

See? My shoes, on a rock, in the middle of the stream. |
