Wild Flowers

 September 7th

Happy Sunday things:

  • There was no milk for breakfast.  Thankfully, I had some leftover pancakes from Friday.  That little bit and a yogurt was enough that I was able to get to the store for milk so the rest of the family could have cereal when they woke up.  That and doing laundry and dishes were my productive accomplishments this morning.
  • Recently some of the New York Times games that I like to play became only available with a paid subscription.  There was also a large discount so I paid.  At first, I wasn't going to because I knew I could live without doing the Mini Crossword.  It was the game Letter Boxed that swayed me to pay.  The other games I liked (Wordle for one) are still free.  Anyhow, in the game Letter Boxed there is a square with three letters on each side to form words with.  There is more to it, but there is a suggested number of words to finish the puzzle by.  It is generally four, five, or six words.  I try to solve this with at least one less than the suggested number.  Today the suggested number was six.  I solved it in two.  I'm pretty happy with that.
  • In the afternoon it became obvious that I wouldn't get my step count without a walk.  I decided to go for a walk.  This morning it rained and the weather following was mostly cloudy with temperatures in the 60's.  It made for perfect walking weather.  I chose to go to Head's Pond Conservation Area.  I've walked this trail before, but when I looked at it using the Gaia app there seemed to be more to the trail.  Previously, I have only done what is the red dashes on the following screen shot.  I hadn't done the dirt road where it seems to end, but I also hadn't seen the trail that starts across the street on the map I used previously.  So I tried that different trail.  It was flooded, maybe I'll try that again in the winter.  Instead I went a little way down one of the dirt roads.  It was a nice walk.

Lots of water bugs.

  • Nanni was cute today.
